Several people have asked for an update about my parents, Jack and Marianne. They are enjoying life together at a wonderful assisted living community - Brookdale Inn at the Park in Irvine, CA. Jack can't see and is as sharp as a tack. Mom can't hear and is sharp as a rolling pin. They still complement one another. They are big fans of the Happy Hour on Friday afternoon at the Inn, and they have made some great new friends includng a couple living across the hall who are the parents of one of my high school friends. And they still have Bailey, the "fish bait" (Gary's term) toy poodle who is supposed to weigh six pounds, but is now up to 12. Mom insists on bringing Bailey a piece of bacon from the dining room every morning and then several of the other residents feed him Ritz crackers in the afternoon. He's the Pavarotti of poodles. Today is Mom's birthday and Jack and I are taking her to lunch at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club with some of her best friends, plus her granddaughter-in-law, Emilie, and great-grandson Keegan. I promise to keep everyone posted about my amazing parents.
